Merry Christmas! It’s the final day of our 12 Days of Xmas 2017 giveaways and we’re excited to share our star prize with you. As you know, Babes about Town is a huge fan of family festivals. Every year, our Family Festivals guide gets bigger and more brilliant. One family festival on our wanderlust list is the small but wonderfully formed Nozstock: The Hidden Valley.
In the heart of Herefordshire, Nozstock offers amazing bands, live comedy, street circus, interactive theatre, family workshops, cinema tent, cosy camping and more. There’s also a Little Wonderland for the teeniest festival-goers.
The festival has been nominated for multiple awards, including Best Small Festival, Best Family Festival and Best Grass Roots Festival at UK Festival Awards; and Mind Blowing Spectacle at the AIF Independent Festivals Awards for Nozstock’s closing festival fire show. 2018 marks Nozstock’s 20th anniversary of creating magic in the meadows, and it promises to be a hot one.
The 2017 lineup featured Happy Mondays, Seasick Steve, Sugarhill Gang, General Levy, Goldie Lookin’ Chain and a host of top musical acts. There’s something for everyone, whether you’re into pop, ska, folk, funk, soul, hip hop, indie, drum and bass, psytrance, house or whatever gets you moving.
Smaller festivals are also a wonderful introduction for first time festivalers. So if you’re thinking about braving one of these events with your children, Nozstock sounds like a great way to test the waters. If you have kids under 12, they get FREE entrance too!
Ella Nosworthy, one of Nozstock’s founders, says: “It’s pretty crazy for us all at the festival to contemplate our 20th anniversary next summer. We are not sure where the time has gone! Everyone is really hyped for the coming summer… and we are of course really thrilled to be nominated for so many awards after this year… It’s also really spurring us on to make 2018 even better than this year, creating our finest year ever!”
