I was watching a fascinating video about pregnancy the other day — the bond between mums and their babies from the womb continues to astound me. Did you know that babies can discern not only their mother’s voice, but their mother’s language, before birth? Or that unborn babies start to hear at 18 weeks? If you wear one of their chiming pendants before birth, the sound not only soothes your baby in the womb, but comforts them later. They grow to associate the familiar tones with the comfort of being in utero, as well as with the reassuring presence of their mother.

These beautiful statement pieces are a modern take on an ancient tradition found in Mayan, Mexican and other indigenous cultures. The necklaces were worn by mothers as a protective amulet, as the jingling was meant to call your Guardian Angel to you for protection.
