Family-friendly company GeoPalz has released iBitz, cool-sounding (and funky-looking) devices that help motivate children and their parents to stay active.

The iBitz Powerkey (for kids) and iBitz Unity (for adults) are mini wireless activity trackers that use Bluetooth to sync to your iOS devices including smartphones, tablets and iPods.

With the iBitz Powerkey, kids get to choose a virtual character through the free downloadable app, blast off into space and explore a galaxy powered by their steps. The more active your child is the more rewards they can earn, and you can even set goals and make up your own rewards for them too.

For adults, the iBitz Unity lets you track daily calories burned, distance covered, level of activity and, if you choose, you can even share targets with friends and family. The free Unity app also enables you to view all of the activity of each family member minute by minute.
