It’s Easter egg hunt time and once again, I’ve rounded up the Top 10 Easter Egg Hunt spots in London. You can experience choc and awe at National Trust venues or search for dragon eggs in Epping Forest. Tasty.

1. National Trust Easter Hunts, multiple locations
Take the kids on a National Trust Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt around one of their historic homes and gardens. Various entry times, hunts mostly around 11am-4pm; hunts cost £3 average + normal venue admission fees. Events in London and slightly further afield: Sutton House Breaker’s Yard (Hackney),

Why stick to an Easter egg hunt when you can go on the trail for ducks at WWT London? Spot new springtime babies, find hidden ducks on the giant trail and win a prize. Other Easter fun at the wetlands includes building nests, animal tracking and pond dipping. Go back to the times of Henry VIII, on an Easter egg hunt through the historic palace and gardens with the Lindt Gold bunny. Look out for teeny chocolate bunnies and win a Lindt treat. Kids will also love exploring the Magic Garden play space, as well as the famous maze (included in entry price). All ages. 4. RAF Museum Animal Easter Trail, RAF Museum London, Grahame Park Way, NW9 5QW (Colindale tube)
The RAF Museum is a fantastic place to visit with little lads, mini machine-heads and anyone fascinated by transport. Over Easter holidays, you can pick up a trail and try the Easter egg hunt (you’ll be looking for animal clues, not eggs). Find every creature pal of the Easter bunny hidden around the aircraft, and bag yourself a chocolate prize. 11am-4pm, £3 per child; regular opening 10am-5pm, FREE entry but charges apply for some exhibits (Apr 8-22)

Follow Alice and friends down the rabbit hole into a world of adventure, created by Take a Seat Productions. Make rabbit ears at the craft table, then grab some dazzle at the Tattoo and Glitter Bar before you’re whisked away to Wonderland. Will you be able to help Alice find the Golden Easter Egg before time runs out? This fun interactive family experience includes games, songs, dance, crafts, glitter/temp tattoos, goody bag and meet & greet characters. 6. King’s Cross Easter Canopy Market, West Handyside Canopy, Just off Granary Square, King’s Cross, N1C 4BZ (King’s Cross St Pancras)
There’s a whole Easter parade of activities at King’s Cross throughout and Easter weekend sees an egg-xtra special Easter egg hunt around the weekly Canopy Market. Students at Central Saint Martins designed the Easter egg hunt last year (12pm-3pm, Fri-Sun), so it’s sure to be creative. Also ride the Easter Express land train, pet fluffy bunnies and chicks at the petting zoo, shop for chocolate and other treats, and lots more. 11am-5pm; FREE entry (Apr 19-22)
7. Easter Bunny on a Steam Train at the Epping Ongar Railway, Ongar station CM5 9AB or North Weald station CM16 6BT (via Epping tube)
Ride a real steam or diesel heritage train this Easter weekend, as Bertie the Bunny returns for the popular Easter egg hunt. Use your tip sheet and search for numbered eggs, then join the Bunny Hop kids disco. There’s also face painting (charges apply), balloon modelling and magic at intervals at North Weald station. Create and decorate an Easter egg inspired by Faberge, then join the Easter egg hunt around the Russia exhibitions in the Queen’s Gallery (Sat Apr 20). Your mini highnesses can also take part in the Easter Extravaganza at the Royal Mews on Easter Monday (Apr 22): springtime and Easter arts and crafts, and hunting for hidden horses to win a chocolate prize. What an egg-squisite time to visit the wetlands, experience spring scenes and take part in their Easter egg hunt. Find all 10 eggs and you’ll get a chocolate prize for keeps. 10. Dinosaur Egg Hunt in Epping Forest, Whipps Cross Road, Hollow Pond, Epping Forest, Leytonstone, E11 1NR (Epping tube)
Calling all jurassic detectives! There’s a dinosaur hiding in Epping Forest, and it’s up to your intrepid sleuths to find the creature and its egg. The Dinosaur Egg Hunt is a collaboration between community artist Anna Lopez, author Saci Lloyd and Forest School leader Sam Peregrine and run by Go Wild Families. Come for team games, tracking, storytelling and role-play for ages 5-11 (younger and older ones welcome).
