If you’re a follower of this blog, then you’ll know that we’re huge fans of Airside Andy, the world’s first MMO (massively multiplayer online) kids app for smartphones and tablets, released earlier this year.
Created by Flying Squirrel Games (ex-Club Penguin and Dragonvale), Airside Andy creates a 3D virtual world where your child can explore the workings of an airport, and make friends with other players through safe and friendly chat using a template of conversational phrases.
We love the freestyle play format that allows children to be fully immersed in the experience. There’s tons to do and discover: whether they’re watching planes take off through binoculars, loading luggage, dying their hair in the salon, or strutting around in a vintage pilot suit (one of several costumes you can buy with coins earned through completed tasks).
This is a fun and educational app to keep the kids engaged over the summer holidays, especially while at the airport or in transit.
Airside Andy has added some brilliant new features to the game since the babes reviewed it as beta testers. The boys now have their own ‘pet’ trolley who follows them around in their personal hangar, which they have decorated with couch, TV and lamp table!
