20 Questions for Jed on his 7th Birthday

February 16, 2016 //  by Uju//  6 Comments

Jed 7th birthday

So here we are. Another celebration, another 20 Birthday Questions as birthday season at Babes HQ comes to a close.

Our little man turns 7 today, one more step away from teeny one to pre-tween.

Jed silly face

Despite his easy breezy personality, in some ways it’s been a roller coaster ride with Jed. At just 4 weeks old he was hospitalised with suspected severe epilepsy. He got the all clear. At 4 months, he was briefly quarantined in a ‘swine flu ward’. Again, it was a false alarm.

When he was 3 he was rushed to A&E by ambulance after bashing his head against a park railing — resulting in what we describe as his Harry Potter scar. Look closer and you can see the tiny lightning flash in the middle of his forehead (amongst other battle stripes).

Last summer in Nigeria, he leaped through a glass table, and had to have 12 stitches in his left knee and thigh. One of the most shocking experiences of my motherhood so far, but again he bounced back — possibly with a little too much bounce, given his injury!

The force is strong with this one. Jedi by name and by destiny.

He’s a proper head case, but he’s also a cuddle monster from birth and one of the sweetest, smartest (and funniest) people I’ve had the pleasure to know. As ever, it’s been fun comparing his answers today to his 6th birthday interview and of course to his big brother’s too (they’re so similar in many ways).

Aww happy birthday to your little jedi Jed! Billie Jean by Michael Jackson? He’s got great taste!

Aww, that little face can melt anybody’s heart. The cheeky grin, the mischievous eyes, the adorable face – who could say no to that? He certainly has provided you with his fair share of drama in his 7 short years. Wow! Had no idea about the early stuff. I’m sure the next 7 years will be as fun and I’m sure he will continue to amaze you and inspire you (fingers crossed for a few less medical drama’s though!). I love his answers especially Lamborghini time machine – he certainly knows how to dream big! Wishing Jed a fabulous 7th birthday and many, many more to come. May he always stay as squish-ably cute as he is! xx

Thank you so much Nomita, lovely birthday wishes. He is indeed the squishy one :-) And yes there’s been plenty of drama (amen to less of the medical kind!), but so much more in the way of cuddles and good times we do feel blessed. I love that time machine too, sounds like a wild experience haha! x

Love the favorite holidays from year to year – it doesn’t seem to matter what they are, every day is a holiday with these wonderful kids, clearly, ha ha. Happy Birthday, Jed. I am fascinated by your superpowers. We’d all love to have a few magical life-rebounding tricks of our own! Please launch a radio series about sports & the world. xo

Haha yes China, love seeing their answers too and Jed does have some super abilities to go with his crash helmet personality lol. Maybe that series is in his future although I think Ezra’s more leaning towards that gift of the gab/sports commentary one day, but we’ll see. Thanks for the birthday love x
