Wolfie + Willow Kids and Baby Shoes (12 Days of Xmas 2015)

December 16, 2015 //  by Uju//  92 Comments

Wolfie + Willow baby shoes Sahara

What is it about baby feet that’s just so precious? One of the sweetest keepsake ideas I’ve seen involves sticking your child’s baby shoes on a canvas — maybe even more striking than preserving those tiny footprints in paint or plaster.

Babyprints first shoes

I wish I’d had the foresight to save at least one pair of Ezra or Jed’s baby shoes. But kids grow out of their footwear at the speed of light, and every time I have a big decluttering session, the bag of shoes is first to go.

Nowadays, the boys are mainly obsessed with football boots and trainers. Thanks to their heroes like Messi and Sanchez, they’re always bugging me to get the latest sports brand, although so long as it makes them ‘speedy’, they’re happy.

If there’s one brand that’s making me nostalgic for the baby shoes era again, it’s Wolfie + Willow. The founders of the company drew inspiration from their son Gabriel (nicknamed Wolfie), willow trees and the wild landscapes of their adopted home, New Zealand. Wolfie + Willow encompasses freedom of movement, simple pleasures and living in the moment, hence the tagline ‘live lightly’.

Wolfie + Willow baby shoes

Head to the Wolfie + Willow web site and fall in love with their luxury leather moccasins designed for babies through the toddler and early school years. You can almost feel the quality just by looking at the range.

Each pair of Wolfie + Willow shoes are handmade in New Zealand from soft biodegradable leather and come in a variety of evocative colours, such as Sky, Flint, Indigo and Raven. All the shoes are coloured with non-toxic vegetable dyes.

The carefully structured shoes are designed to allow growing feet to move naturally, without restriction. The lightweight leather is said to mould to the foot like a second skin. This is especially important for babies, crawlers and toddlers as they feel their way across the ground and learn to balance and control their motor functions.

Wolfie + Willow Clancy baby shoes

Wolfie + Willow are owned by Inch Blue, a brand that has featured on Babes about Town and our giveaways before, and we like the New Zealand connection too (Ezra and Jed’s nana is a Kiwi).

I almost wept when I saw that Wolfie + Willow moccasins stop at child size 12, because Jed is already size 1 even though he’s not yet. Wide feet run in our family, and I love the boy’s chunky build, but I do miss their chubby little bubba toes!

If you’re looking for baby shoes, or soft indoor (and light outdoor) shoes for your growing child, do check out Wolfie + Willow.

Wolfie + Willow baby shoes and children’s moccasins retail at £38-£42 and are available from ages 0 to 6 (UK size 0-12). Visit www.wolfieandwillow.com

Win Wolfie + Willow Shoes (£38-£42)!

Wolfie + Willow are very generously giving away 2 pairs of baby/children’s shoes to lucky readers as part of our 12 Days of Xmas giveaways series. These are special shoes that will make sure your child has happy feet.

Entry is simple via Rafflecopter form below. NB: Please reload the page if the form doesn’t show and if you still can’t see it, do give us a shout at info@babesabouttown.com. Good luck!
