London Sightseeing Cruises Family Ticket (12 Days of Xmas 2015)

December 22, 2015 //  by Uju//  66 Comments

City Cruise London sightseeing cruises

When I attended the South Bank Winter London media reception earlier this month, I met the lovely Julia from City Cruises. She invited us along for one of their London Sightseeing Cruises around the Thames.

City Cruises are London’s number 1 sightseeing tour operating daily on the river and giving visitors a unique view of some of the city’s most popular attractions. Climb aboard and sail past the London Eye, the Shard, Tower Bridge, St Paul’s and Tate Modern, Canary Wharf & Greenwich among other landmarks.

All the boats are fully heated with indoor seating, open space areas with panoramic views and upper decks on many boats that are accessible to the public.

London sightseeing cruises on City Cruises Millennium Diamond

Their regular London sightseeing cruises operate from Westminster pier, Tower pier, London Eye pier and Greenwich pier. What’s great about this cruise is that you can hop on and hop off as much as you like, giving you a chance to really scope out the surrounding area.

Exclusively for the Christmas holiday period, they are running a Sail with Santa cruise (Dec 20-24) aimed at kids ages 3-17 and their parents. On this festive ride around the river, kids can meet the guy in the big red suit and get a soft drink, cookie and a little gift. Adults get served mulled wine and mince pies to enjoy with their trip. There are also New Year’s celebration cruises available for a special night on the Thames, but these sell out quickly!

City Cruises Afternoon Tea cruise 2

In addition to the regular London sightseeing cruises, City Cruises also operate a year-round Afternoon Tea Cruise that we are hoping to sample at some point over the holidays. The Afternoon Tea Cruise promises a full spread of tea, scones with clotted cream, finger sandwiches and cakes all aboard the boat, along with 360 degree views of London’s riverside landmarks from the upper deck. You can add a glass of bubbly to your afternoon tea cruise to make things go even more swimmingly.

Possibly their most thrilling river experience is the City Cruises Thamesjet, an adrenaline-fuelled speedboat ride from Westminster Pier, to Tower Bridge and beyond. With two rides to choose from — the thamesrush or the thamesmax — you’ll go flying down the water at breakneck speed!

Regular London Sightseeing Cruises (dates and times vary), adult from £9.75/child from £4.95. Sail with Santa cruises depart from Tower Pier at 10am, 11.15am, 12.30pm, 1.45pm & 3.30pm; adult from/child from (Dec 20-24); Afternoon Tea cruises run through the year (times and dates vary, check website); adult from £31/child from £21. Visit citycruises.com

Thamesjet rides daily (see web site for times/dates), adult from £35/child from £21/family from £85 (special offer £69). Visit thamesjet.com
