I was delighted when Serenata Flowers contacted me offering to send over a gift from their extensive range of hampers for all occasions. Who doesn’t like to receive a classy hamper filled with foodie items or pampering goodies?

My gifted hamper was a Cheese Trug containing:

What a treat. The selection of herby water biscuits, chutney and full flavoured cheeses, with some fruity accents, is delicious comfort food that I’m happy to indulge in with my fromage-loving mister. Especially since the red wine’s been flowing freely lately.

For a special pick-me-up, they’d also included a box of Belgian Chocolates that I devoured in a couple of days (none for you, hubby!). Thanks Serenata for spoiling me when I need it most.

As I shared with you earlier this month, my mother recently passed away and it’s been a very difficult time emotionally. One thing that has helped me get through the days is the outpouring of kindness and sympathy from my readers.

One lady wrote:

‘My heart was wrenched when I read the first line of your post, as it is evident from your blog how much family means to you. I know there is nothing I can say to take away the pain, however know that you are very much in my thoughts and prayers. Thank you so much for all you do for us exasperated mothers out there.’
