Dates with Dads: Pillow Cinema

February 27, 2015 //  by Uju//  4 Comments

Pillow Cinema

There’s nothing I love doing better on an evening than snuggling up with the Mister and indulging in a box set or a Hollywood classic. When you’re a busy mama and papa, sometimes getting cosy together on the sofa is more appealing than a night on the town.

But I’d love to flop back and tune in at Pillow Cinema – the uber-comfy sounding film screening series held at cool and unusual venues all over London. Their current home is at a disused Shoreditch underground station where guests lounge on fatboy beanbags large enough for two (or one person seriously macking).

They provide complimentary blankets and there’s also popcorn, food, waiter service and a licensed bar to keep customers happy. Pillow Cinema’s movie menu is looking pretty tasty for the month ahead: highlights include The Grand Budapest Hotel (Fri Feb 27), Gone Girl (Wed Mar 4) and Mean Girls (Sat Mar 7).

In case you don’t want to leave the minions at home they’re also showing occasional kids movie matinees, with popular flicks like Fantastic Mr Fox and The Lego Movie lined up.

Check out the current programme on the Pillow Cinema web site and make it a date (and try not to snooze off like you do on the couch at home)!

Tickets £10 per head/£20 per bean bag (fits 2 people), screening times vary. Pillow Cinema is at the former Shoreditch Underground station, Code St, just off Brick Lane (pedestrian lane next to Kinkao Thai Restaurant), E1 5ER (Shoreditch High St overground)

This looks amazing, the only worry of mine would be if Mr would fall asleep…. but what a great idea!

Hahaha I know, I think I’m more likely to snooze off! But how cosy does it look? Maybe we should plan a double date ;-) x
