Camp Bestival Countdown: LEGO, Project Wild Thing & Britain’s Not Got Talent!

June 10, 2014 //  by Uju//  2 Comments

Camp Bestival family fun

Unbelievably Camp Bestival is just over a month and a half away (July 31-August 3) and the anticipation is building towards what’s set to be the family friendly festival of the summer.

First, we told you about Basement Jaxx, De La Soul, Sinead O’Connor and all the other great bands headlining the main stage. We raved about the children’s entertainment, everyone from Mr Tumble to the Insect Circus.

But hold onto your silly hats, there’s more my friends!

LEGO!

The LEGO Imagination Factory invites you to let your minds and hands roam free, as you conjure up fighter planes, city skylines, mythical beasts and more from the seemingly endless supply of bricks at your disposal.

STAR GAZING!

Starry eyed kids of all ages can enter Oberon’s Observatory, a ramshackle building where you can peek through the camp-besticopes at extraordinary activities in the skies above — and around the festival itself!

TALENT SHOWS!

Well, a show with a difference in Britain’s Not Got Talent where anyone with no particular skills can get on the world’s craziest stage and try to wow the crowd. Time to whip out that nose-whistling or toe-twisting party trick.

WEIRD SCIENCE!

Boffins of every description will be found in the Science Tent, watching live science-themed acts like now>press>play or experimenting with activities like 3D printing Minecraft designs or making video games with play doh.

COOL NEW ARENAS!

Plus we can’t wait to check out brand new arenas Caravanserai, a camp site of gypsies and beatniks serving up cocktails and bric a brac; the Travelling Barn where hoe-down master Cut-a-Shine will get all the family up and swinging every evening; and the return of the Pig’s Big Ballroom dance arena where you can boogie down to everything from ‘90s R&B to jazz, African, calypso and rock & roll.

Really interested in doing this, my kids would love it and for me and husband to get back to see some music would be a dream come true

    Hey Mari,

I highly recommend Camp Bestival, it really is such a lovely family time, so much to do for every age group and the vibe there was so warm and friendly when we went in 2012. Really looking forward to this year! x
