I love blogging, unabashedly.
You start with an idea, tinkering away in your own little corner of the world. Before you know it, you become part of a community. Every now and then, you get the chance to join a movement.
Last year a trio of bloggers known affectionately as Team Honk, launched a campaign for Comic Relief’s 25th Anniversary.
It involved much blogging, vlogging, tweeting, cake baking, head shaving, mountain climbing, even travelling to Ghana and raising awareness of the #goodwork Comic Relief was doing to change lives. Hundreds of bloggers got swept into the mission and Annie, T and Penny helped raise a massive £10,000 for charity.
#teamhonk is already the stuff of legend. But what they’ve dreamed up for Sport Relief 2014 is an absolute game-changer.
Team Honk Bloggers Relay 2014
The Team Honk Bloggers Relay is a cross-country, social media marathon spanning 3,000 miles from Land’s End to John O’Groats. More than 200 bloggers, family and friends are walking, scooting, buggy-pushing, cycling… who knows, maybe even twerking their way across the country.
The goal? To raise £20,000 for Sport Relief.
I’d been meaning to get my behind off the couch to join in, especially to support my friend Penny, who sent me this postcard from Ghana last year. I just hadn’t (ahem) gotten around to it.
Until I saw this.
Holy mother of BRILLIANCE!
A Monopoly-themed relay happening right here in London? How could I not get my boots on (or Scottie dog accessory… or top hat… still haven’t decided on an outfit!) for what’s set to be an epic day for a fantastic cause?
In less than three weeks time, I’ll be joining a team of London bloggers aka #Honkopoly (whoop whoop!), hitting multiple Monopoly board landmarks from Vauxhall to Fleet and we would LOVE your support.
The Honkopoly relay happens on Feb 5, just one day before my birthday, so if you’re stuck for what to buy me as a gift, why not just sponsor us instead?
If you’d like to donate to Sport Relief you can do so via the Team Honk Sport Relief giving page or you can text HONK to 70005 and donate £5.
Also follow our progress on Twitter via #teamhonkrelay and #honkopoly

Really looking forward to meeting you there! Although I’m getting a wee bit nervous now – I’ll have my 4 and 1 year old with me, so it might be a bit chaotic!

Looking forward to meeting you too Nell! Now I see all these little ones, I’m tempted to pull my boys out of school for the day to take part. It’s educational and for a great cause after all ;-)
