Miroslav Sasek’s This is London at Tower Bridge

April 17, 2013 //  by Uju//  Leave a Comment

Tower Bridge exhibition This is London

I was invited to Tower Bridge for the launch party of the brand new exhibition This is London.

Aside from a welcome chance to slip off for an evening out, it gave me another opportunity to marvel at how stunning the bridge and surrounding scenery are at night.

Tower Bridge at Night

This is London is one of our favourite picture books, a nostalgic and wittily drawn guide to the city, aimed at children but equally fun for adults.

Miroslav Sasek’s charming illustrations and engaging text line the West Walkway on 29 large-scale displays. They offer an insightful view of London life in the ’50s, set up against the backdrop of the modern capital.

It’s exciting to spot some of the landmarks featured in the book right through the bridge’s viewing windows and I look forward to taking the babes up to see their book come to life!

Here’s the full review of our family visit to Tower Bridge

Tower Bridge exhibition is open daily 9.30am-6pm (Oct-Mar) and 10am-6.30pm (Apr-Sep); adult £8/child 5-15 £3.40/under 5s free
