Spring Style (with a hint of samba)!

January 31, 2013 //  by Uju//  Leave a Comment

It’s Carnival season coming up in Rio and even though it’s mostly grey and windy here in London, that’s no reason not to daydream about a tropical escape.

I’ve been window shopping for my fantasy wardrobe at online portal Avenue 32.

Like this sunshine yellow dress by hotter than hot Brazilian-American designer Alexander Lewis — guaranteed to put a little samba in your step this Spring/Summer.

The luxury showcase at Avenue 32 features a mix of emerging designers such as former model Anna Laub, whose Prism collection is all about the beach, baby.

Imagine yourself lounging on the sands, Caipirinha in hand, your mum tum neatly concealed in this dark green Chateau one-piece. Top off the look with some retro-funky shades from Laub’s minimalist range.

Very Mad Men meets Ipanema.

The Spring/Summer items at Avenue 32 span high-end fashion, from a lust-worthy Huishan Zhang silk wrap dress at £1,135 (gulp!) to more affordable pieces and accessories, including sweet customisable pendants at £60 from Sarah Chloe.

It’s my birthday next week and their gift selection is highly inspirational. Hint hint.

For more looks to ease you into Spring, especially if you’re stuck on these shores, skip on over to LK Bennett at John Lewis. I’ve always loved this brand for understated elegance and, above all, shoes.

LK Bennett’s classic Malibu peep toe sandals with heels will give any outfit a sexy lift. I have to admit though you’ll rarely find me outside flats since I gave birth (so much harder to walk in heels when you’re lugging around bump/baby or buggy)!

I’d rather step out in these Suki patent ballerina pumps (£90).

Come to mama.
