I first came across Bogs footwear at the Bubble London kidswear trade show in spring. I was struck by the unique, funky look of their boots for adults and kids.
Bogs sent us a pair of their Bogs Kids Classic High Spiders wellies for Jed to try out.
They’ve got wide, inbuilt handles that make it easy for babes to pull them on and Jed wasted no time slipping into his new boots.
The boots fit snugly over the leg with soft, squishy neoprene material around the calf and chunky rubber feet and soles. The under soles are sturdy and my little urban adventurer was happy climbing up and down park slopes even on slippery wet grass.
Of course Jed wanted to jump in the first puddle he saw, and although I was slightly skeptical of the claims that the fabric on the boots is 100% waterproof, when I felt inside afterwards his feet were dry and toasty.
Made in Oregon, Bogs footwear is built to last all weather conditions. The wellies are insulated with ‘7mm waterproof Neo Tech’ (not exactly sure what that is but sounds impressive) and the insoles are treated with Aegis anti-microbe shield to protect against odours, fungus and other unmentionables.
There’s a little thermometer sign on the heel of the boots that indicates they’ve been tested down to temperatures of minus 30F!
Jed says his boots are super comfy and on the first try he didn’t take them off for ages even after we got home. He certainly attracted a lot of admiring looks from other toddlers about town when we were out and about (obviously that’s Ezra leaning into the shot).
Bogs makes wellies in a range of stylish prints and sizes for boys and girls. We also dig the swirly, flower power design of their Bogs Kids Classic High Tuscany wellies for girls.
These boots are made for walking… and running, climbing, leaping etc!
Bogs designer Kids Classic boots retail around £54.95 and come with a lifetime guarantee. They can be found via www.anatom.co.uk and other good stockists
