A LolliBopping Picnic in Regent’s Park

June 8, 2011 //  by Uju//  4 Comments

After the on-off downpour the day before, Wednesday turned out to be an idyllic day for hanging out in Regent’s Park at the LolliBop Picnic.

We were invited, along with select members of the press and fellow LolliBop Families including our friends at Cafe Bebe, Mummy’s Little Monkey and Mummy Matters, to an afternoon of fun in the sun as a mini taster for the massive event coming up in August.

There were good times a-plenty, with kids activities ranging from baking with Bear to gorgeous face painting, storytelling, swing ball, hoops, balloons, chasing the gorilla and cuddling Peppa Pig.

Of course, the kids went nuts when the bubble specialist turned up.

He was so tall we thought he might be hiding a pair of stilts.

The mood was high (ok, we did go through several rounds of Pimm’s) and the vibe was super-chilled. Did I mention we’ll be giving away LolliBop Festival tickets soon?

I know at least two boys who can’t wait until August.

On the Spot
Kira, aged 6

Kira’s fabulous outfit was bought in Rajasthan, according to Kira’s mum, Romany, founder of web site FestivalKidz.com and an avid festival-goer. ‘I would love to source more and sell them on the web site as they really stand out.’

Kira adds, ‘I’ve had a great time at the LolliBop Picnic. My favourite thing was being inside the bubbles.’

Looks like it was a great day. i have checked out the Lollipop festival but there didn’t seem much on for boys. Would that be right?

Hey Frankie, not sure what you were looking for specifically, but actually there’s loads on for boys as well as girls – if they’re into stuff like go-karting, Science Museum, Zingzillas, Horrible Histories, Rastamouse etc. It’s pretty action-packed. My two certainly weren’t stuck for things to do last year and this summer’s event is massive! Did you check out the full line-up? http://www.lollibopfestival.co.uk/programme/line-up/
