So you’d rather spend time with the kids actually looking for eggs than figuring out where’s the best place to hunt them down?
Don’t stress, we’ve picked 10 Easter egg trails around town that should be a great day out for you and your bunnies.
1. Easter Egg Hunt at Battersea Park Zoo, SW11
Use the quiz and follow the clues to find out which of the zoo animals are guarding chocolate eggs. £1.50 plus usual admission price. 10am-4.30pm (Apr 9-24)
2. Easter Eggstravaganza at London Wetland Centre, Barnes SW13
Follow the progress of real life Easter eggs as the ducklings hatch, meet other animals and wildlife, decorate eggs, finger paint a blossom tree and take part in a range of activities from 10am daily. Open 9.30am-5pm, max £10.55 adult/£5.85 child ages 4-12, under 4s free (Apr 9-25)
3. Easter at Kew, Kew Gardens, Richmond TW9
Chocolate is growing on trees at these famous gardens with an entire Chocolate Sculpture Garden, Easter egg hunts, chocolate making and tasting workshops and tokens from the Kew Easter bunny. Visit web site for times and prices. Entry adults £13.90/kids free (Apr 9-May 2)
4. Put all your Eggs in one Basket at Bank of England Museum, Bartholomew Lane, EC2
Family activities including banknote jigsaws, safe-cracking, steering a virtual balloon (teaching about inflation) and of course an Easter egg to every child who completes the trail. 10am-4.30pm, Free (Apr 11-15 & Apr 18-21)
5. Easter Egg Treasure Hunt at Islington Museum, 245 St John St, EC1
It’s another eggucational hunt for kids ages 5+ with a whistle-stop tour of the museum and a chocolate prize to follow. 11am-4pm, free (Apr 15)
6. A Walk in the Park: Easter Egg Hunt in Kensington Gardens, W8 (from Queensway tube exit)
Join the Ramblers Association on a family-friendly stroll around the beautiful park in search of something the Easter bunny’s hidden. 11am, free (Apr 19)
7. Easter Egg Trails at National Trust properties, nationwide
Every year, Cadbury sponsors Easter trails at more than 250 historic sites and it’s always a good excuse to wander around gorgeous grounds in search of hidden chocolate. Visit the web site for full details of egg hunts over Easter weekend at Sutton House (Hackney), Fenton House, Morden Hall Park, Ham House & Garden, Osterley Park & House, Claremont Landscape Garden and more. 8. The Ultimate Easter Egg Hunt at Kenwood House, Hampstead NW3
One of the English Heritage sites around the country promoting the film Hop with the chance to win a golden egg on completion of a trail. Also at Eltham Palace and Gardens, Down House and Walmer Castle. 12-3pm, £1 kids ages 5-15, under 5s free (Apr 22-25)
9. Easy Peasy Skate Easter Egg Hunt in Battersea Park, SW11
It’s Easter Saturday and that crafty Bunny has hidden dozens of eggs around the park. 10. Easter Eggstravaganza at Lauderdale House, Waterlow Park, Highgate Hill N6
It’s first come, first served for this eggy adventure around the grounds on Easter Sunday. Tickets on sale 10.30am, event 11am-1pm. £6 adult/£6 kids (Apr 24)
