Weekend Scoop (Mar 18-20)

Shake off your St. Paddy’s Day hangover, pop on a Red Nose and get out to explore the best of London for families. Highlights include:

Fri: Red Nose Day at The Scoop at More London, Tower Bridge to London Bridge, SE1
A day of fun and fund-raising for Comic Relief. Activities include Human Table Skittles, wall climbing, coconut shy and a chance to ride a giant Scalextric track. Free, all donations welcome. 12-2.30pm

Fri-Sun: The Picture Book World of Polly Dunbar at Daunt Books, W1
60+ illustrations by the popular author (Shoe Baby, Penguin, My Dad’s a Birdman) are on display and for sale for the first time. Meet Dunbar herself on Sat 10.30am-12.30pm and 2.30-4.30pm. Free entry (ends Mar 24)

Sat: Peter Pan Picnic at Chisenhale Dance Space, Chisenhale Rd, E3
We can fly! And float and pirouette in this workshop for kids big and small. Dance to tunes from the classic Disney flick, enjoy a dance floor picnic then settle down to watch the film, with dance breaks throughout. Dressing up highly encouraged. Free, 1-4pm

SPECIAL EVENT
Sat: Diddi Dance: Twirl for Tommys at Diddi Dance locations, London-wide
Little movers can strut their funky stuff at Diddi Dance classes around the country in a special Twirl-a-thon to raise money for baby charity Tommy’s. Entrance fee, suggested donation £5 incl. class and Twirl event. 11am-12pm (local times may differ). NB: Islington families find Diddi Dance at Christchurch Highbury, 155 Highbury Grove.

Local Pick
Thu-Sun: Barnard Park Funfair at Barnard Park, Islington N1
Squealers and screamers hope for fair weather as a traditional funfair rolls into town, taking over the popular local park. Open 4-9pm (Thu-Fri) and 12-6pm (Sat-Sun).
