G Desserts: Win Cupcakes in a Jar!

November 5, 2010 //  by Uju//  Leave a Comment

Some people (not this mama!) would have you believe that cupcakes have had their moment.

In a crowded market of fluffy sponge and extravagant icing, you have to do something special to stand out.

How about a ‘cupcake in a jar’?

This genius idea is the trademark of baker and mum of three Gillian Boateng of G Desserts whose delicious treats have certainly earned the Babes seal of approval.

She sent us three flavours to sample – Chocolate Nutter, Red Velvet and Victoria Sponge – and I shared them with the hubby who pronounced each one ‘equally delicious’.

It was turning into a ‘clash of the teaspoons’ although he gallantly let me have the final mouthfuls (love you babe)!

G Desserts may taste sinful but each cake is made from only the freshest ingredients with no additives or preservatives. Even better their glass containers allow the cupcakes to be stored up to 8 days in the fridge or even frozen for 6 weeks!

We invited Gillian into our VIB Lounge to tell us more about herself and her delectable desserts. Read more tomorrow about how she got into baking, the side effects of some store bought cakes and why this mama’s a bit nuts!

Special Offer

After we sampled G Desserts, these cupcakes made us so happy we thought it would be unfair not to spread the joy.

Gillian has kindly offered us a taster set of her cupcakes in a jar to one lucky Babe. Simply email editor@babesabouttown.com with the answer to this question:

What is Gillian’s favourite cupcake flavour? (clue: she tells us in her interview so check the blog tomorrow!)

Answers no later than midnight GMT on Monday November 15.

Winner will be picked at random and notified via email and on the blog. Good luck!
