Some MAD(s) news!

I got a shock yesterday when after my first nosey around Twitter in…let’s say, a while… I saw a message dated back in April that Babes about Town had been nominated for the MADS in two categories.

What the ???!

First off, I only learned about the MADS – the awards for the UK’s Best Mum and Dad blogs – last month and being a relatively new blog I had no idea Babes about Town was even on their radar.

So aside from feeling sheepish (tweepish?) that I’ve not been on Twitter more often, I’ve also been kicking myself that I didn’t know about the nomination, so didn’t get a chance to promote it or start trying to canvass for votes!

I’ve just downloaded Twitter for Blackberry app so hopefully I’ll be able to keep up better with all those trying to communicate with what must seem like a stony silence from my end.

Meanwhile, here’s a very belated thanks to the MADS for the acknowledgement (got your button in my sidebar at last!) and wishing good luck to the finalists in each category.

There are some amazing UK parenting blogs out there. I’m still only just discovering some of the more popular ones through forums like the MADS and of course British Mummy Bloggers.

Next month, if things work according to plan, I’ll get to meet many of them in person at the UK’s first conference for parent bloggers.
