Fri: Take One Picture
Inspire your junior Picassos with a trip to the National Gallery’s annual exhibition of works by primary school kids inspired by Renoir’s The Umbrellas (until Sep 19)

Sat: The Commons May Day Picnic
Sick of party politics? Join free thinkers, hoola hoopers, artists and other merrymakers at this shebang on Parliament Hill, in support of local MP wannabe Tamsin Osmond. From 12pm till late.

Sun: Canalway Cavalcade
Boat rally, trade show and waterway festival with puppet barge theatre, illuminated boat procession, teddy bear’s picnic and more at Little Venice. (May 1-3)

Mon: The Great London Garden Trail
Ten gorgeous gardens around the capital open up to the public for free, for one day only, at this event to promote green fingers. 12-5pm, zones 1 to 3.
