Open Day for building explorers

March 19, 2010 //  by Uju//  Leave a Comment

Are you a nosy neighbour? Ever wondered not just about the people next door but about the history of the buildings all along your street?

The Building Exploratory is an original resource in Hackney that inspires people to unearth the secrets of the areas in which they live and to discover new ways of relating to the buildings that surround them.

The long-standing project hosts frequent family-friendly events including an interactive exhibition (currently closed for redevelopment) and ongoing programmes developed with local school children, partner organisations and community members.

Come along this Saturday for an Open Day being held at the bespoke space created by Voluntary Design and Build. There will be creative workshops for visitors of all ages at this free, drop-in event running from 10.30am-2.30pm.

If all that creativity leaves you feeling peckish, grab a snack at the building’s eco-chic restaurant Waterhouse.

The Building Exploratory is in N1.
