‘A maternity dress!’ spluttered Mr. Babe, as I unveiled my recent winnings from a raffle contest. There was naked fear in his eyes and he was right to be afraid (be very afraid).
For I had won the dress – a hot pink number that doesn’t necessarily require a bump! – at a seriously broody-making soiree.
Sousette, the kids party organiser, launched their premium Baby Shower service at Blossom Mother & Child in South Kensington at the weekend.
It was a little slice of baby heaven.
Sleek and chic aren’t two words you’d normally associate with maternity wear but Blossom’s range manages to be that and more. Their gorgeous mum and kids collections, along with hand-painted nursery furniture donated by Dragons of Walton Street created the perfect backdrop to showcase Sousette’s event styling.
Soraya, the organising whiz behind Sousette, had attended to every detail from exquisite cupcakes and elegant party bags to my favourite touch – baby bottles filled with pink or blue jelly beans.
Party planning is a boom business in the capital.
But Sousette (it’s French for ‘lollipop’) aims to have the competition licked with its fully bespoke packages.
So whether you’re hosting an intimate gathering for a pregnant friend or rolling out the red carpet for a pre-school princess, Sousette tailors its services according to your vision (and budget).
Soraya promises they’ll handle anything from finding the venue to creative fun and games for guests. And like magic, they’ll make all the mess afterwards disappear.
All you need to do is sit back and eat cake.

Sounds divine!
Wow. Sounds like they do all the work, and we can just sit back and enjoy!
