Living in Islington offers many pleasures, one of which is the joys of whiling away an afternoon browsing for treasures.
This area is a foodie’s delight but also a mecca for shoppers. There’s a mix of upscale clothing, interiors and arts gems lining Upper Street. Then curve off to Camden Passage, where you’ll find edgier brands as well as antiques and oddities.
One store that lures me in is FrostFrench, the flagship boutique on Camden Passage owned by actress/designer duo Sadie Frost and Jemima French.
Both women are mothers of four and it shows not only in clothing that manages to be stylish yet forgiving but also in their brand’s ethos, that combines foxy with family-friendly.
Stroll into the average boutique with two boys in tow and you’ll meet taut faces. But here the service is warm and welcoming. On our last visit when baby started revving up, the salesgirl quickly whipped out balloons to keep both Jed and his big bro happy.
FrostFrench is hosting a sale of up to 70% off now in N1, at their new outpost in Soho and on the web site.
With Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland opening in cinemas, this Argyle knitted dress caught my eye. There’s something rather Mad Hatter’s Tea Party about it.
Slip it on and act like you’re the Queen of Diamonds.
