3 Reasons to Be Cheerful

Reasons to be Cheerful at Mummy with a Heart

While browsing my buddy Mummy’s Little Monkey’s wonderful blog, I found out about this new blog link-up series titled ‘Reasons to be Cheerful’.

It’s been created by Mummy From the Heart and I think it’s fab.

All you have to do is list three things you’re grateful for – or at the very least cheer you up – every week.

Given my One Word Resolution for 2011, this is something that I knew I had to be a part of. So with no further ado, here’s the first list of three things that put some extra pep in my step:

1. This photo of Ezra in his first school Nativity Play. Christmas might be over, but he’ll always be my angel.

2. I’ve just ordered a custom glow-in-the-dark travel hoop in hot pink and black taping. It’s made by Martha who’s part of the super hot Rock a Hula crew. I can’t wait to give it a spin.

3. We’re going to see Fela the Musical at the National Theatre this week. My husband bought us tickets as part of my Xmas gift!

Based on the life of Nigeria’s brightest musical light (Fela was part Bob Marley, part Mick Jagger!) this stage adaptation won 3 Tony’s on Broadway. Critics here have described it as ‘triumphant’. I am already on the edge of my seat.

Hey, whaddaya know? Just writing this post has made me super cheerful already. There’s so much to look back in wonder at and also to look forward to.

Thanks, Mummy From the Heart!

NB: Watch Fela Live! broadcast from the National Theatre in cinemas around the world (incl. US, Europe, Africa, Australia & NZ) on Thu Jan 13.
