Baby Loves Danceathon: Win Tickets!

November 3, 2010 //  by Uju//  4 Comments

My family and I are serious groovers.

Almost every week, we hold a ‘Friday Night Disco’ where we pump up the volume, switch on the coloured lights, whip out the glow sticks and boogie on down from kitchen to living room.

It’s hardly the Ministry of Sound, but the babes have a blast.

So you can bet your dancing shoes that we’ll be hotfooting it to the upcoming Baby Loves Disco events at Stratford Circus and the Tabernacle in west London. These afternoon discos around the country are a great way to mix with other parents, relive a little of your clubbing days and watch pre-school party animals tear it up.

From New York (its birthplace) to as far as South Korea, Baby Loves Disco parties are all the rave.

Dance for Charity

Across Britain this month, Baby Loves Disco has joined forces with Tommy’s Baby Charity and Practical Parenting Magazine to hold a sponsored danceathon. The mission: to find Britain’s Best Little Dancer and to raise money for Tommy’s vital research into pregnancy complications.

The overall winner of the national danceathon will also earn a family weekend break at Butlins! The highest fundraiser will win wall art of their choice from Marmalade Paws, Peppa Pig goodies, a family ticket to a future Baby Loves Disco event and tickets to family attractions.

Tommy’s is appealing to each little dancer to try and raise £20 (enough to pay for a midwife to answer an hour’s worth of calls from worried parents). If 500 dancers raise £20 each that could mean a massive £10,000 – the same fee required for a research assistant into Tommy’s ongoing investigations into the causes of premature birth, miscarriage and stillbirth.

Babes on the Panel!

As one of millions of women who has been affected by pregnancy complications, Tommy’s is a charity whose work hits close to home. So I’m especially thrilled that Babes about Town has been invited to be on the judging panel at the Baby Loves Disco events from 2-5pm on November 7 at Stratford Circus and November 14 at the Tabernacle in West London.

Come on down to see us doing our best un-Simon Cowell impression as we help select London’s funkiest little mover.

Win Tickets!

In addition, we’ve been given TWO SETS OF FAMILY TICKETS to give away: ONE FAMILY PASS for Baby Loves Disco at Stratford Circus on Sunday November 7 and ANOTHER FAMILY PASS for Baby Loves Disco at The Tabernacle on Sunday November 14.

Simply leave a comment below before Saturday November 6, 12 midnight GMT (Stratford Circus event) and/or Friday November 12, 12 midnight GMT (The Tabernacle event).

Winners will be selected at random and notified via email and on the blog.

The Baby Loves Disco Danceathon is open to children aged 6 months to 7 years and will be taking place in Manchester, London, Brighton, Bristol, Glasgow, Stirling and Edinburgh. Tickets are £8-9 per person (non-walking babies go free) and once participants buy their tickets online, they will be directed as to how to set up their personal fundraising page.

    Hi Sue,

That’s cool, send it when you can. Looking forward to Sunday, wondering if we’ll have as much trouble picking a winner. See you there x
