The Frost Fair is back at Bankside. This historic event harks back to circa 1605 to 1814, when the River Thames froze over 24 times and Bankside residents held ‘Frost Fairs’ on the ice. Modern visitors can relive the fun at Frost Fair 2026 which promises live music, stalls, games, workshops and even an elephant! All ages welcome. 11am-late; FREE (Jan 31)

Sun: Big Fish Little Fish ‘Animal Fantastical’ Family Rave at Dorking Halls, Reigate Road, Dorking RH4 1SG (Dorking rail)
Join resident DJs Baker and Beale for an ‘animal fantastical’ themed family rave in the company of the legendary Big Fish Little Fish. They’ll be spinning club classics to get your mini beasts boogieing with bubbles, balloons, foam and optional fancy dress. Doxa Faces will transform you into your animal of choice (separate fee) and you can craft a creature on Wacky Wheadon’s craft tables. There’s more animal fun at this engaging show from Scarlet Oak Theatre. Using live music and puppet characters, two creature carers invite viewers to hear about animal conservation through storytelling. A playful and impactful experience for ages 3+. 11am & 2pm; from £14 (Feb 1)

Illustrator and educator Jhinuk Sarkar leads this sensory craft workshop, using illustration, fabric and collage techniques and smells inspired by Eric Carle’s The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
