Kick back on deck chair and catch all the action from centre court as the big screens return to King’s Cross Granary Square. There will be strawberries, cream, jugs of Pimms and more on offer. Daily, FREE (until Jul 6)

Every year this bubbling part of London is taken over by the Greenwich + Docklands International Festival, offering a vibrant mix of theatre, street arts, dance performances, pop-up installations and family friendly workshops. The fabulous Moomins arrive at Polka Theatre in puppet form (with music and humour) in a collaboration with Little Angel Theatre, celebrating the 100th birthday of Tove Jansson, creator of the classic picture books. Fri: Off the Page: City of London Festival Children’s Parade venues around the Square Mile
As part of the City of London festival ongoing through mid-July, 1400 children will parade the streets dressed as their favourite characters from books, comics and more. The route includes Guildhall Yard, Cheapside, Paternoster Square, rounding off at St Paul’s Cathedral where there will be a special performance by the cast of Matilda the Musical. 12.45pm-1.30pm, FREE (Jun 27)

Don’t let England’s defeat get you down. Head to London Fields for a day-long carnival atmosphere, with samba beats and Brazilian cocktails, Latin American street food, kids face painting, blow football, Pimms bar, Capoeira and samba displays and world cup matches screened throughout the day. 12pm-late, £4 entry (Jun 28)

Love makes the world go around and this weekend officially kicks off two months celebrating love in all its many crazy colours at Southbank Centre. Check out the 1000 Acts of Kindness art installation, join in Voice Lab’s Big Love Sing for all ages, tuck into Real Food made with love and learn more about upcoming events including The Big Wedding Weekend in August!
