Try Gluten Free Curry and Gastro Dishes with iLumi!

ilumi gluten free dishes

You know those nights when hubby’s digging into what’s left of the leftovers, the kids are munching on fish fingers and you’re in desperate need of something quick and tasty to feed yourself?

What if you could open your kitchen cupboard and hey presto, there was a yummy and super healthy meal (gluten free, nut free, milk free) that could be on your plate in less than 2 minutes?

I found myself in this happy situation a few nights back, when I discovered some ilumi gluten free ready meal samples in the pantry.

A quick whizz in the microwave and I was tucking into Kerala Chicken Curry and white long grain rice for one, and feeling rather smug about it too!

The good folks at ilumi pride themselves on creating ready meals that don’t taste like plastic. Their meals are cooked from scratch with all-natural ingredients and vacuum sealed to retain freshness.

The chicken curry was really rather tasty, creamy, tender and I liked knowing that this was a much healthier (and affordable) option than the oily, salt-stacked dishes from some takeaways. And the thing that strikes me about eating gluten free food, whether you suffer from allergens or not, is how you don’t feel so puffed up afterwards.

On ilumi’s web site, you’ll see a wide variety of food offerings from classic Chilli con Carne and Spicy Butternut Squash soup, to more exotic Coq au Vin or Venison with Pancetta and Sloe Gin in their new gastro range.

They also sent me their Tender Pork with Cider and Wholegrain Mustard which was only so-so for me, but I can heartily recommend their Tom Kha Gai soup which I enjoyed at a lovely dinner with the ilumi crew last year.
