Minced Beef and Dumplings with Heston Blumenthal (Featured Video)

One of the delights of autumn and winter is that you can soak all your woes in a rich and soul-stirring casserole.

Stews are a big part of my Nigerian heritage — in fact our national dish is called ‘stew’ and is basically a blend of tomatoes, hot peppers, spices and whatever meats you want to throw in the pot. Delish.

I’ll share a recipe someday soon but if you’re after a quick fix for the weather blues, have a look at this short but rewarding video starring Heston Blumenthal. It features The Fat Duck chef cooking up a hearty stew with minced beef and dumplings.

Consider your cockles warmed.

Check out the full recipe for Heston’s traditional mince beef and dumplings
