NB: THIS COMPETITION IS NOW CLOSED. CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR LUCKY WINNER BELINDA MOORE!
There must be something in the water in Québec — this Canadian province has produced some of the world’s top circus troupes: including Cirque du Soleil, the amazing Cirque Alfonse, and coming up at Sadler’s Wells Peacock Theatre next month, Cirque Eloize in iD.
We’re getting seriously excited about this show: it promises a blend of circus, theatricality and urban dance including b-boying, breakdancing, hip hop and more. After our glorious summer of theatre in London, the babes can’t wait to catch more ‘inspirational’ (trans: wreck your neck trying to imitate at home) moves.
The show is set in the heart of the city and is described by Director Jeannot Painchaud as “at the crossroads of comic books, science fiction movies and the rich universe of graffiti”.
Aimed at families with kids age 5+, the production will feature a breathtaking display of skills including acrobatics, Cyr wheel, Chinese pole, aerial silks and the trampowall!
Check out the official iD trailer below:
And for a taste of more, the next video titled ‘How contortionists travel by tube’ reminds me a little bit of how I used get around on the London underground with a buggy.
Not quite as bendy, perhaps, but definitely with as much attitude!
