Ezra’s fabulous 7th birthday party was a smash hit thanks to Gamewagon, the hot new mobile video gaming experience.
The party costs more than I’ve spent on previous birthdays for my kids but I think it’s worth the expense.
And it’s a drop in the ocean compared to what some stars are forking out for their precious mini-mes.
This guest post features celebrity kids’ birthday parties that really take the cake!

Most Extravagant Kids Parties (Guest Post)**
Everybody loves a good kids’ party!
Jam butties, goodie bags and pin the tail on the donkey, what more could you ask for? However, when it comes to planning the best birthday bash for your youngster, it’s never as easy as you first think.
You found the perfect presents; dolls and bikes for girls, action figures and games consoles for the lads. But when it comes to arranging the event itself, you never know what these pint-sized divas are going to demand.
So to lend a helping hand, here are some of our favourite kids’ parties hosted by celebrities. The bar has been set I’m afraid; can you top these extravagant shindigs?
Katie Holmes
Spending an outrageous $100,000 on her daughter Suri’s birthday, Katie Holmes decided that there should be no expense spared when it comes to celebrating her daughter reaching the ripe old age of 2. Surrounding little Suri with hundreds of live butterflies, the proud parents presented her with a four tier cake that would leave any two year old in awe (or maybe not).
And to add that extra Hollywood feel, they also made sure that there were plenty of fresh flowers to keep the guests happy, $17000 worth in fact, an obvious essential when it comes to organising your kid’s party; forget pass the parcel, we need more dahlias!
Gwen Stefani
Keeping it low key, Gwen Stefani decided to only spend $15,000 on her son’s birthday party. She thought it was more about quality than quantity, investing her pennies on classic favourites such as superheroes, candyfloss machines and a bouncy castle.
And if Kingston wasn’t entertained enough, Ms Stefani also treated him and his friends to a face painter and balloon artist; a lovely surprise for the four year olds. As was David Beckham’s guest appearance! But don’t worry, Kingston was on hand to explain the tricky concept of musical chairs.
Victoria Beckham
Speaking of Posh and Becks, as you’d expect, they really pushed the boat out when it came to making Brooklyn’s big day special.
Much to the envy of many 13 year olds, in between receiving the usual birthday phone calls (Grandma, Auntie Edna) Brooklyn was also lucky enough to get a personal rendition of ‘Happy Birthday’ from his old pal Usher.
And to top it all off, him and his Dad then spent the rest of his 13th at a basketball game, seeing the LA Lakers take on Miami Heat. Just your average party.
