It’s game, set and match with tennis speeddating on the menu among other activities for all the family, at this free tennis festival happening through the weekend. There’s Playball, mini tennis and Once Upon a Parachute for kids, delicious street food, plus live action from Wimbledon on the big screens. 10am-9pm, FREE (Jul 4-8)
Thu-Sun: The Tiger who Came to Tea at Lyric, Shaftesbury Avenue, WC2 (Covent Garden tube)
One of the best shows we saw last year roars back into the West End, at this lively adaptation of the popular Judith Kerr story of a tiger who pops around at tea time and causes havoc. Catch it before it sells out! From 11am (times and dates vary), £13-£16/£20 premium (Jul 4-Sep 2)
Fri-Sun: Wimbledon Finals at Duke of York Square, King’s Rd, SW3 (Sloane Square tube)
Enjoy ‘strawberries and screen’ as you tuck into the singles semi-finals and finals at this open air event in the heart of Chelsea. Book early to nab one of 50 blankets, pack a picnic and toast the winners with Pimms or Pommery champers. 1-8pm (Fri), 1-6pm (Sat-Sun), FREE (Jul 6-8)

Sat: Step Live at Southbank Centre, Belvedere Rd, SE1 (Waterloo tube)
A free day of dance led by secondary school kids performing and hosting workshops, as part of the Step into Dance programme. Keep your eyes peeled for a surprise dance and poetry flash mob. 11am onwards, FREE (Jul 7)

Celebrate the 350th birthday of Mr Punch with Punch themed activities and crafts, backstage tours, puppet demos and a special puppet parade by the Saturday Puppet Club and the Crafty Kids club. 1-5pm, FREE (Jul 7)
Sat-Sun: Barnet’s Finest at RAF Museum, Grahame Park Way, NW9 (Colindale tube)
It’s a big weekend of family fun with bouncy castle, face painting, falconer training, fairground attractions, Bollywood dance workshops, rugby tag, DJ skills, brass band and loads more at the famous flight museum. 10am-5.30pm, FREE
Sat-Sun: Kensington Palace Party, by Gold Gates, Kensington Gardens, W8 (Queensway tube)
There’s maypole dancing, Victorian dancing, Jubilee Morris dancing and rock & roll with the London Swing Dance society, plus storytelling and art activities at this annual shebang in the palace gardens. 12-5.30pm, FREE (Jul 7-8)
