Weekend Scoop for London Families (Oct 13-16)

It’s Diwali, the festival of lights in Trafalgar Square on Sunday and this weekend on Babes we’re celebrating Chocolate Week (yum), a monster bash in Stratford and one year of Big Apple Hot Dogs. Happy Birthday, BAHD daddy!

Tickets go on sale TODAY for what’s set to be one of the hottest events of 2012. Go behind the scenes on the movie set of the most popular franchise of all time. Sneak a peek into Dumbledore’s office, Hogwart’s great hall and meet animatronic acts like Aragog the spider. The magical tour of sets, costumes and special effects opens Spring 2012. Fri: Big Apple Hot Dogs Birthday Bash, 239 Old St, EC1 (Old St tube)

You’re invited to a mash-up of beastly proportions with literary guests, monster draw-off, monster maze, storytelling for ages 4+, monster yurt for babies and toddlers and a fancy dress monster ball with live DJs! 11.30am-5pm, adult/child £4.50/under 2s free (Oct 15)

Sun: The Balloon Gardener at Jacksons Lane, 269 Archway Rd, N6 (Highgate tube)
