Babe-Friendly Cinema and a trip to Rio!

October 11, 2011 //  by Uju//  Leave a Comment

Going to a cinema with your baby is one of the coolest things you can do as a new mum. We’ve made it easier for you with the first of our brand new Babe-Friendly Guides series:

Introducing our Parent & Baby Cinema Guide, a comprehensive listing of cinemas around town with babe-friendly screenings. You can view the listings by day or by area, and keep an eye out for our guide to Kids Club Screenings for kids aged 4+.

A Trip to Rio (on DVD)!

We’ve got movies on our minds this week, after watching a special screening of the animated comedy Rio at London Zoo over the weekend.

Set for DVD release on Oct 24, Rio is the raucous tale of Blu, an endangered blue macaw who embarks on a life-changing adventure to Brazil. The goal? To (ahem) couple with Jewel, the only female left of their kind, in an attempt to save their species.

It’s a wild ride from start to all-singing, samba-dancing finish and the Babes loved it (although Jed was a wee bit scared of the ‘baddie bird’).

All the kids at the event got their own cuddly Blu and Jewel to keep and the screening was followed by a Meet the Macaw experience – what a beautiful bird.

Check out this trailer of Rio and then click on over to Babes about Town’s Facebook Page for a peek at Disney’s Lion King 3D, just opened in cinemas across London!

Rio: The Ultimate Carnival Edition is available from Oct 24 on DVD (£19.99), Blu Ray Triple Play (£24.99) and Blu Ray 3D (£29.99)
