Hip hop battles on the South Bank, a floating stage on Regent’s Canal and a smoothie-making bike at Pleasance Theatre, all part of your weekend scoop. Enjoy!

Thu-Sun: Intelligent Movement: Hip Hop at Southbank Centre, SE1 (Embankment/Charing Cross tube)
B-boys, DJs, emcees and graffiti artists – representing the 4 pillars of hip hop – go head to head in this celebration of street culture featuring special guests Electric Boogaloos, DJ Jazzy Jay and more, dance masterclasses and free workshops, and the finale of the Street XXL Dance Championships. Varying times and prices, with many free events. (Jul 14-17)

Sat: New Voices Festival V&A Museum of Childhood, Cambridge Heath Rd E2 (Bethnal Green tube)
A rich multicultural feast of music, food and workshops celebrating East London’s diversity with music from the Kalakuta Millionaires, Colombian band Papayera and more. 12-6.30pm, free (Jun 16)

Sat-Sun: Shoreditch Festival Live Weekend, Regent’s Canal N1 & E8
The annual festival kicks off with a special focus on East London’s waterways including floating stage, floating cinema, floating forest and plenty of dry land action e.g. food markets and street dance. 1-10pm, free (Jul 15-24)

Sat: Bliss Buggy Push, Kensington Gardens, W2 (Queensway tube)
Help babies born too sick, too small or too soon with a sponsored 5k buggy push around the beautiful gardens followed by a post-push picnic and a fab goody bag for all entrants. 10.30am-12.30pm, £10 entry per adult and child (Jun 16)

Local Pick
Sat: Big Day Out at Pleasance Theatre, North Rd, N7 (Caledonian Rd tube)
It’s 12 hours of fun and games at the annual event with free workshops, shows, market stalls, BBQ and popular acts including Tim Bat, John Hegley, the Battle of the Bands and more. Make your own smoothies by riding the Juice Bike! 11am-11pm, free (Jul 16)
