Independence Day in London with Kids

Whether you’re an expat or just a fan of all things Stars and Stripes, celebrate the 4th of July at one of a handful of family-friendly events across the capital.

Free Bagels at New York Bakery Co., Canvey St (north end), SE1
Enjoy an authentic Big Apple bagel in celebration of Independence Day. From 12pm, free

Independence Day Party at Benjamin Franklin House, 36 Craven St, WC2
Toast the 4th of July with cake and a glass of bubbly in the world’s only remaining Franklin House. 12-2pm, £8 adults/£5 conc/£3 kids

Fourth of July at Big Apple Hot Dogs, 239 Old St, EC1
The world’s best hot dog? You be the judge. He’s opening specially for Independence Day today. From 12pm-6pm, £2.50-£4

Bowling at All Star Lanes in Holborn, Bayswater and Brick Lane
Go rocking and rolling at this cool 1950s style bowling alley, kids welcome until 6pm.

Origins Festival of First Nations, Guildhall Yard, Gresham St, EC2
Hear Native American flute by Grammy nominee Kelvin Mockingbird among the indigenous music at this outdoor concert. 5.50pm, free
