Weekend Scoop (Jun 10-12)

June 9, 2011 //  by Uju//  Leave a Comment

Indie designs, butt-naked bikers and secret gardens. Here’s your scoop for what could turn out to be a wild weekend!

Fri-Sun: Cockpit Arts Studio 25th, Northington St, Holborn, WC1
Come and celebrate the design studio’s silver jubilee with cocktails, cakes, games and party hat-making for the kids, and nab a unique gift or item for the home while you’re at it. 6-9pm (Fri), 11am-6pm (Sat-Sun), free. (Jun 10-12)

Sat: World Naked Bike Ride, Hyde Park, Serpentine Rd, W2
More than 1000 nudists hit the road in this annual celebration of bodies and bikes, with ‘safety for cyclists’ as this year’s theme. 3pm onwards.

If bare bums on bikes don’t tempt you, try the London Nocturne at Smithfields Market, EC1 featuring international cycling stars racing and family entertainment from 4pm onwards (Jun 11)

Sat-Sun: Open Garden Squares Weekend, venues across London
Discover hidden green spaces and secret treasures as hundreds of gardens around the capital open to the public, some for the very first time. Local picks include Culpeper Garden near Angel (Sat-Sun) and a Japanese Gardens Day at the Geffrye Museum in Hackney (Sun, 12-5pm). Free, varying hours. (Jun 11-12)
