Fri: Unwanted Present Swap at Mums The Word, Stoke Newington, N16
Stuck with that Rudolph jumper? No siree, Santa. Trade in those gifts you’d rather give back at this Stokey mums and dads’ club. There’s tea and cakes on offer too. £4, 3-5pm

Sat: The Hare & the Tortoise at Tricycle Theatre, Kilburn NW6
Classic tale adapted for the stage with live music, colourful costumes, puppetry and of course a clever moral. 11.30am & 2pm, ages 2-6. £6/£5 concs.

Fri-Sun: The London Boat Show at ExCel London, E16
Water babes go wild for this year’s attractions including the simulated Boardwalk, the Watersports Action Pool (try kayaking, wake boarding and more!) and an action-packed Family Area. 10am-7pm (Fri-Sat), 10am-6pm (Sun). £13 adult/kids under 15 Free. (ends Jan 16)
