My four-year-old is a typical boy thus is happy to go to bed in pyjamas emblazoned with Thomas the Tank Engine, Bob the Builder or any type of superhero.
But sometimes a modern mama craves kids’ sleepwear with a little more class.
Luxury brand Catiouche has arrived to fill this niche. The debut collection is launched by designer Lana Berglas who named the company after her daughter Katerina (Catiouche is from the Russian version of Katerina, Katiouche).
Earlier this week, a gorgeous set of pajama shorts and vest arrived in the post for me to review. It came in an elegant gift box with a special note for its owner from Catiouche herself (and her cat Max).
According to Catiouche, the pyjamas are made out of clouds and cotton flowers grown with the help of the sun and thousands of ladybirds. In ‘real world’ speak, this means they’re made from 100% organic cotton and feel wispy soft against the skin.
The shorts are elasticated with an adjustable tie and – in a sweet touch – the cream vest features one of Max’s paw prints. What I like most about Catiouche pyjamas is that they’re unisex without being uniform. They can even be worn outdoors.
Catiouche is fully committed to being environmentally friendly, including using recycled packaging and water-based inks for printing. The line is being developed with a storybook (written by acclaimed author Santa Montefiore) and a Max soft toy.
All in all, this would make a charming gift for any eco-conscious parent with a child aged 2 to 6.
