Go Dutch in Trafalgar Square

April 15, 2010 //  by Uju//  Leave a Comment

It’s the Queen of Holland’s birthday coming up and for the fifth year in a row Dutch Londoners are planning to paint the town orange.

On Sat April 17, the Holland House 2010 festival takes over central London, making Trafalgar Square look like it’s been Tangoed.

Watch live Dutch bands like Go Back to the Zoo, sample native snacks e.g. Poffertjes (mini-pancakes), take a tour of the National Gallery’s famous Dutch section, or gawp at some mad man (World Champion Rens Blom) doing a pole-vaulting demo.

For families, there’s a special kids’ corner with live theatre (Hansel and Gretel), balloon modelling, face decorating and, wouldn’t you know it, clog painting.

For more info on Holland House 2010, check the web site.
