Take cover with Mamascarf (Special Offer!)

March 12, 2010 //  by Uju//  3 Comments

As the mother of two large and very hungry babies, it didn’t take me long to lose certain inhibitions.

I have been known to breastfeed while standing on a crowded bus.

But I remember the first time I had to venture beyond the doctor’s office with my non-bottle-taking baby. The mounting sense of panic I felt at the thought of whipping out dinner in a public place.

If only I’d had a nursing cover to help my confidence, shield me from stealthy glances and keep baby’s eyes on the prize! Back then, I didn’t know such a thing existed and struggled with scarves that kept on slipping until I learned simply to feed without giving a damn.

One new cover-up on the market is the Mamascarf, a slinky piece of fabric that can be tied across your body to provide support for your arm while you feed your baby discreetly.

It’s made of lightweight cotton that’s comfy and breathable for the bubba and comes in different colours to match your outfits.

The cool thing is that Mamascarf hides your mummy tummy which is always an issue when you lift up your top to feed. There’s even a hidden pocket to store your breastpad.

Mamascarf was designed by Keira, a new mum who got fed up with the stares when she was out nursing her infant. It’s now a favourite baby bag item for mums around the UK including celebs Mel C and Leah Wood.

Mamascarf is offering a 10% discount to all Babes about Town readers.

Buy here and use code KEIRA10 at checkout.

oooh I may just totally consider that! I breastfed two of my three until they were a year old. The first one I had to give up through lack of support and she was starving (I was so young then)

I plan to breastfeed again until our little guy is one. I may just stop in and pick one of these babies up!!

and thanks for the love today Uju…you so ROCK GIRL!! *swoon*

This is great! I have something very similar, and it makes feeding such a pleasure, specially since your little one can actually still see you while feeding, which is great for them too.

Hi Luschka, nice to have you over here and was great to meet you the other day, if briefly! It is a cool invention, kind of thing I wish I’d designed myself :-)
