Baby Loves Disco: Giveaway!

February 5, 2010 //  by Uju//  Leave a Comment

Funky mamas and papas, get on the good foot.

It’s time to shake off the Sunday blahs and break out those rusty moves as Baby Loves Disco lands at Stratford Circus, E15 later this month.

In case you haven’t heard, Baby Loves Disco is the afternoon clubbing phenomenon that’s been sweeping the globe since it first took the Big Apple by storm five years ago.

Launched by a New York dancer and her DJ mate, the event is aimed at families with kids aged 0-7 looking for something cool to do at weekends. It’s the heady mix of upbeat music spun by top DJs, hip settings and up-for-it families that makes this party such a hit.

Ezra and I went to our first Baby Loves Disco event in 2008 at the Clapham Grand. At first the loud music, strobe lights, mirrored balls and bubbling crowd were a little too much for my then two-year-old. We quickly retreated to the chill-out zone for some quiet play.

After rolling around with soft toys, making eyes at other babies and munching on snacks, Ezra soon warmed up. One hour later, he was ‘breakdancing’ by the DJ booth.

In December, we had an even groovier time at the free Baby Loves Disco Christmas party at the South Bank. If you’re into feel-good tunes (everything from the Bee Gees to Soul II Soul) and cute tots shaking their stuff, make sure to get on the next disco train.

Baby Loves Disco UK holds regular parties around the country. Tickets cost £8 per head, non-walkers go free. Visit the web site for details including the launch of Baby Loves Hip Hop at the Tabernacle in Notting Hill this May!

**SPECIAL OFFER**
Babes about Town have hooked up with our friends at Baby Loves Disco to offer a complimentary family ticket for their next event at Stratford Circus on February 28.

Simply send us an email at editor@babesabouttown.com telling us where Baby Loves Disco started: was it a) New York b) Melbourne c) Glasgow?

Winner will be picked at random. Closing date February 12.
