Feeling Trumped? Why not get Trolled instead? I’m not talking about engaging in You Tube ‘flame wars’ with @AnonymousInternetPsycho. I mean the good kind of Trolls…
The kind that make you feel all warm and fuzzy and glittery inside. Lord knows, we need positive vibes, today of all days.
Seriously, if you haven’t seen the movie Trolls yet, grab your nearest kid or just treat yourself and GO. We saw Trolls at the start of half-term and I have to admit, my expectations were low. Even Ezra worried it would be too ‘babyish’. But we adored this film and came dancing out of the cinema. It’s got that irreverent Shrek sense of humour, the colours pop in a good way and the soundtrack is bumping!
Meet the Trolls at Shrek’s Adventure
Vosene Kids invited us to an exclusive** Trolls party at Shrek’s Adventure on the South Bank. I’d had a taster of Shrek’s Adventure last Christmas and was keen to experience it with the babes. And who could resist a chance to get ‘papped’ with Poppy and Branch?
It was also good to see other bloggers like Katy from Modern Mummy, Kerrie-Anne from London Mothers Club and Mirka from Fitness 4 Mamas with her lovely daughters.
The Shrek’s Adventure tour begins with a brief encounter with Princess Fiona, followed by a manic 4D journey that was so immersive, Jed thought he might fall out of the bus! Shrek’s Adventure is a wild ride that features familiar faces from the Dreamworks family, from Kung Fu Panda to Hiccup (How to Train Your Dragon). There’s a treasure trail across a stinky swamp, a topsy turvy game show and a mirror maze to get lost in. The character actors you meet along the way are having a ball, there’s tons of audience participation and it’s all cheeky good fun.
The tour lasts 40 minutes and once it was over, Vosene Kids took us to their pop-up makeover parlour where the kids (and a couple of mamas) got Trollified.
The babes couldn’t wait to add some colour to their natural ‘up dos’. What do you think? Ezra and Jed felt very cool. They certainly turned a few heads around the South Bank.
The boys wanted to impress their school mates with their Trolls stylin’. But although Jed’s blue hair was technically ‘school colours’, it had to come out eventually.
Luckily Vosene Kids armed us with some of their 2-in-1 kids shampoos in delicious flavours like melon and strawberry. A little bit of scrubbing and the colours washed right out. (NB: Usually I go for ultra natural shampoos since my boys have sensitive skin, but so far the Vosene Kids range hasn’t caused them any problems. Do a patch test first if you’re unsure.)
Vosene Kids also sent us bottles of anti-head lice spray. I love this stuff as it’s easy to apply, helps keep nits at bay and doubles up as a detangling spray. Critters and knots beware!
Enjoy a few more pics from our Trolls day out and dream of happier times. For while half the world goes to hell in a hot air balloon flown by the Oompa Loompa of doom, the rest of us can still choose joy, good tunes and sparkly hair!
They see us Trolling, they hating…
