Matt Hatter Chronicles Season 3 Premiere at Vue Cinemas

September 3, 2014 //  by Uju//  Leave a Comment

MattHatter

I must admit I had no idea who Matt Hatter was when we were invited to the red carpet premiere of Season 3 of the Matt Hatter Chronicles.

The babes don’t watch that much regular TV these days, preferring YouTube or Amazon Prime Instant Video. However both boys somehow knew all about Matt Hatter and were excited about seeing him on the big screen.

Don’t you think they both kind of already look like Hatters?

The premiere held at Vue Cinemas Leicester Square where loads of fans had gathered, and crews from CiTV and Fun Kids Radio were reporting. We had a quick snap and chat with the lively creator of Matt Hatter Chronicles, Nigel Stone, who said the character is very much based on his son (who’s now 18). I’d say there’s quite a bit of Mr Stone senior in him too!

So who is this Hatter bloke? In true sci fi adventure tradition, Matt Hatter is an ordinary looking boy who discovers that he comes from a long line of people with special abilities. The Hatters are destined to save the Multiverse (an alternate dimension) from famous movie villains that escaped somehow through a projector in the old cinema that belonged to their family.

After a quick schooling by his granddad, Matt is thrust into the Multiverse where he meets his sidekicks Roxie and Gomez, and they get busy battling baddies.

The Matt Hatter Chronicles is HUGELY popular with its audience, having sold into more than 80 countries worldwide and listed as one of the fastest growing boys’ global franchises of 2013.

The show is aimed at boys ages 5-12 so I’m hardly the target demographic but I have to say I was quite enjoying the character interaction, corny jokes and super-charged animation. And the babes were totally caught up in the Multiverse. They have since gone onto ITV Player to download past episodes and catch up on what they’ve missed!

Catch the season 3 premiere of Matt Hatter on CiTV from Sep 13
