Supercool t-shirt and babygro range Monster’s Baby landed at Selfridges just last month.
Showcasing their street-style threads in the department store was a massive coup for VK Assi and Joe Olswang, the London lads behind the label.
Monster’s Baby made its debut on the kidswear scene in 2012. Bored with the clobber they saw their nieces and nephews wearing, VK and Joe set out to create something cooler and fresher.
Drawing on their graphic design and music industry backgrounds, they produced their unique tees printed and pressed out of Joe’s flat and sold via their Portobello Market stall.
Beyond Selfridges, Monster’s Baby can be found via their own web site and Amazon.co.uk and coming up in May, at a pop-up in Boxpark, Shoreditch.
They sent 2 t-shirts** for my little monsters to review. Ezra’s modelling their ‘Teddy versus Ted’ design. He cracked up when he saw it, while mama enjoyed the Reservoir Dogs reference (NB: no bears were harmed in the making of this shirt).
I was impressed by the quality of the shirts made from super soft 100% ring-spun cotton and screenprinted graphics that won’t fade after the first wash.
Jed was ready to hit the road in this rich blue ‘Green Line’ shirt, part of their Transport-themed designs. Other themes include their signature Little Baby graphic (top pic) and all images are also available in baby onesies.
The Monster’s Baby range is aimed at kids 0-8 and future products planned for release in 2013 include jackets, blankets, soft leather shoes and harem pants!
We predict a Monster year ahead.
