Trendy Kit for Fast-Growing Kids

February 24, 2013 //  by Uju//  Leave a Comment

Right before he turned 7, Ezra had an overnight growth spurt. Suddenly all his jeans and trousers seem to be hovering around ankle level. Time to go shopping.

Matalan asked me to check out their kids’ clothing and I instantly clicked on their boys chinos collection.

I’m really impressed by the style and range of their trousers at a very affordable price. As the mum of 2 trend-conscious kids I’m always trying to find that balance between stuff the boys like, clothing that lasts and yet doesn’t strain the budget — especially when kids shoot up so fast.

Ezra tends to go for safe blacks, greys and neutrals for his bottoms but he looks great in colour and I’m really feeling those mustard yellow chinos for a smart/casual look.

I’d also love to get him in some turquoise skinny jeans — I know it’s kind of a girly colour (one of my favourites) but I think he can pull it off!

Jed can’t get enough of anything red so a pair of bright red chinos would be right up his street. I would pair them with these high top trainers for all our stomping about town.

And how cute is this red stripe polo shirt? Perfect for either one of my Dennis the Menace impersonators!
