Eye Spy… Cool Glasses for Kids

March 27, 2012 //  by Uju//  4 Comments

Ezra had just started reception class when his teacher suggested he should get his eyes checked. She said he was frowning and squinting a lot when looking at the board. I’d noticed this too, but thought it might just be a family trait (we all frown reading books and watching TV).

Still Babe Daddy and I realised that it was time we both got our eyes examined too — life was getting a little blurry around the edges.

One trip to Specsavers put all three of us in the frame. I remember the days at school when glasses were uncool, but Ezra was super excited to get his first pair of specs. Nowadays there are so many styles to choose from, and the kids’ range had characters like Spongebob and Ben 10.

Ezra thought the eye exam was fun and the chatty optician really put him at ease.

The only part that freaked him out was having drops put in his eyes to check he didn’t have a lazy eye. Turned out he only needs glasses for concentrated effort, like mama (although I forget mine most of the time).

Here’s my little superhero looking very ‘Clark Kent meets Batman’ in his brand new designer eyewear and PJs. And of course the ultimate geek chic accessory — a book!

Style Check
Glasses – Quiksilver (from Specsavers)
Batman pyjamas – Marks & Spencer
Artfully messy bunk bed – Babes’ own

SHUT UP, Big E is wearing specs??? he looks so cute though (don’t tell him that, just tell him I think he looks cool). I need to wear specs for reading and nowadays I can’t even write and email without them.

lol well he feels pretty cool in his specs, which is good because I don’t have to persuade him to wear them. I always forget my glasses, so used to just squinting away at my PC etc. I could wear them on a string – but that might just be giving up! x
