Perform Party at The Place

November 20, 2011 //  by Uju//  Leave a Comment

Recently we were invited to a Perform party, run by Perform drama school at The Place dance studios near King’s Cross.

Both my boys are a combo of introvert and exhibitionist – wallflowers that bloom under the spotlight – and I was curious to see whether they would get into things or just lurk and scowl.

At the event, we were split into two categories: kids over 4 stayed in one room while parents and younger ones headed to another room for the Mini Ps party.

Here, our lively Party Leader took us on an imaginative voyage ‘under the sea’ with singing, soft toys and instruments.

Jed was super shy to start with but after I took him out for a juice break, he perked up considerably. Soon he was throwing himself booty and soul into the action songs.

After our session, I went to find out how Ezra was coping. They were playing Pirates and Mermaids and I was pleased to see that Ezra was totally caught up in the story.

The team at Perform underline the fact that they’re not a stage school, but focus on building kids’ confidence and creativity through games, music and role play.

The party (followed by lunch and gift bag) got four big thumbs up from the babes and Ezra insisted on wearing his red Perform t-shirt on the way home. Show-off.

Perform runs classes, holiday activities and parties for kids ages 3 months to 3 years (Mini Ps), 4 to 8 (Perform) and 8 to 12 (Perform Plus). Visit www.perform.org.uk to find a location near you and book for your FREE trial.
