Weekend Scoop for London Families (Sep 16-18)

This weekend, we highlight community festivals around town along with disco for under 5s, a sensational colour festival in Clapham and a chance to unlock London’s secret treasures. Plus a visit to one very special garden!

Fri-Sun: In the Night Garden Live at Brent Cross Shopping Centre
Catch a ride on the Ninky Nonk or on the Pinky Ponk into one of two different shows bringing the magic of Night Garden to life with Makka Pakka, Upsy Daisy, Iggle Piggle and a chance to meet the characters after the show! 10am-8pm (Mon-Fri), 9am-7pm (Sat), 10am-6pm (Sun); tickets £12.50-£22.50, meet the characters £15 per family (Sep 10-24)

Sat-Sun: Open House London, various venues
Explore more than 700 wonders of London’s architecture as buildings across the city open their doors to the public for one weekend. Family activities include drawing and moel making in Children’s City and a mobile architectural lab with ice cream! Download the Open House Junior programme. From 10am daily, free (Sep 17-18)

Sat-Sun: Colourscape Music Festival, Clapham Common, SW4 (Clapham Common tube)
Wrap a colour cloak around you and enter Colourscape’s series of interconnected colour chambers for a multi-sensory experience of energy and creativity. This popular festival offers 5 days of live music, performance and play for all ages. Weekends + concerts 1-6pm; weekday openings 12-1pm; adult £8/child £4/family £22 (Sep 17-24)

Sun: Disco Kids at The Albany, Douglas Way, Deptford SE8 (Deptford train)
Party on down to south east London for a family groove with live DJ, in-house entertainment, snacks and a chill-out zone for ravers ages 0-5. 12-5pm; £5.50, family ticket £20, babes in arms free (Sep 18)
